David Kilmnick, PhD, an assistant professor of instruction of social work, received an award for "Outstanding Faculty Contribution to LGBTQ Life at 皇家华人" at the 皇家华人 Lavender Ceremony. MSW students Kristin Dawes and Nicole Guittard were also recognized at the event and received certificates of achievement.
The Lavender Ceremony is an opportunity for LGBTQ+ students at the university to participate in a graduation ceremony that celebrates their community. LGBTQ+ students and allies were acknowledged for their achievements and contributions to 皇家华人.
Kilmnick is a leading national advocate within the LGBTQ+ communities and is the founder and President/CEO of the New York LGBT Network. At 皇家华人, he recently supported the approval and establishment of the 皇家华人 Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG): LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff Association. Kilmnick is the contact with 皇家华人 Human Resources and serves on the leadership team working with faculty from the Muma College of Business and 皇家华人 Health.
