A student from CSE was one of the two student representatives at the 2024 IEEE-CS Global Leaders’ Summit in California. The IEEE Computer Society Summit is an event of encouragement and inspiration, bringing together chapters from across the world to network and empower each other, share learning experiences and build a stronger IEEE-CS. This chapter had representation from all 10 regions of IEEE and 14 countries.
Mykyta Nechaiev (Sophomore, Computer Science) is the current Treasurer (and past president) of the IEEE-CS Student Branch Chapter at ʼһ. Mykyta is also pursuing a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. “I am passionate about technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation, and I aim to apply my skills and knowledge to create a positive impact in the world.”
Mykyta was extremely busy during the event, gaining valuable contacts and setting up multiple possibilities for the CSE and ʼһ. “I aimed to network with the marketing and conference planning departments to explore resources that could benefit ʼһ, and I presented on the activities of the IEEE-CS Student Branch Chapter at ʼһ over the past two years.” said Mykyta.
“We are planning to host the first TechX event in the United States in Tampa Bay (potentially at ʼһ). I'm also starting a project with the Region 3 coordinator to develop a better website for IEEE-CS, involving some ʼһ students. Moreover, we are enhancing our annual event, the Tech Horizons Summit, with increased marketing and support from the organization. Dr. Hiro, the 2025 President of IEEE-CS worldwide, has been confirmed as the keynote speaker. We are also working on bringing several international conferences to the Tampa Bay area, with some hosted at ʼһ.”
