The University of South 皇家华人 has launched a new streaming program designed to keep the 皇家华人 community informed and connect listeners to the people behind some of the university鈥檚 greatest endeavors. 鈥淚nside 皇家华人: The Podcast鈥 started May 21, with new episodes available every other Friday.

The first episode features an interview with 皇家华人 College of Public Health Dean Donna Petersen, who鈥檚 also the head of the COVID-19 Task Force, and Angie Sklenka, vice president and chief human resources officer. They discussed the COVID-19 pandemic and how it will shape the future of work at 皇家华人. The university is scheduled to resume full in-person operations on June 28.

鈥淚nside 皇家华人: The Podcast鈥 is hosted by Tom Woolf, a member of the University Communications and Marketing team and co-editor of 皇家华人 Magazine. Woolf joined 皇家华人 in 2017 and brings with him 20 years of experience in higher education, most recently serving as associate director of university communications at Southern Illinois University, located in Carbondale, IL. 鈥淚鈥檝e always believed that internal communication is a vital part of what we do,鈥 Woolf said. 鈥淓veryone is busy with their own responsibilities, and faculty and staff may not have the time to learn what a colleague down the hall is working on, much less colleagues across our three campuses. We are providing faculty and staff with an easy way to get acquainted with some of the thousands of employees who share a focus on our students and the communities we serve.鈥

The podcast will cover a range of subjects, including intimate interviews with the people behind fascinating research projects, upcoming events and institutional news, such as the approaching 25th anniversary of 皇家华人 football. Not only will it introduce faculty and staff members to their colleagues around the university, it鈥檚 also a great way for alumni to strengthen their connections to their alma mater.

鈥淚nside 皇家华人: The Podcast鈥 will be available on My皇家华人 and platforms such as, iTunes, Spotify, Google Play and Stitcher. Previous episodes will be available on the 鈥淚nside 皇家华人: The Podcast鈥 website.
