Honeybees save 皇家华人 student from allergies, now he鈥檚 returning the favor

Kobe Phillips developed a passion for honeybees after finding relief from his severe allergies by eating honey. At 皇家华人, Phillips is working on creating pollinator habitats using bio receptive sculptures and he plans to attend graduate school to focus on further developing these designs.

CAS teams join forces to digitally preserve a historically Black cemetery in Pasco County

The 皇家华人 College of Arts and Sciences鈥 (CAS) Dr. Antoinette Jackson, anthropology chair and director of the Living Heritage Institute and Story Studio (LHI) and Black Cemetery Network (BCN), has joined forces with Dr. Davide Tanasi, history professor and director of the Institute for Digital Exploration (IDEx), to preserve Mt. Carmel Cemetery, a historically Black cemetery in Pasco County, via 3D digitization techniques.

Terrestrial Lidar Field Methods course digitally preserves Ybor City streetcars

皇家华人 taking the Terrestrial Lidar Field Methods course, led by College of Arts and Sciences Professor Steve Fernandez from the 皇家华人 School of Public Affairs and Dr. Laura Harrison from the 皇家华人 Access 3D Lab, are trained in methods of 3D architectural documentation with professional-grade lidar technology while also providing real-world experience in the field.

Dr. Garrett Potts earns grant to develop a 鈥楲ife Worth Living鈥 hub at 皇家华人

Dr. Garrett Potts, assistant professor, is the recipient of the three-year $237,620 grant, and will be responsible for LWL project development. He will be aided by members of his department, including Dr. Michael DeJonge, Dr. Tori Lockler, and Dr. Marianne Florian.

Three generations of 皇家华人 history alumna make history of their own

Judy Rosenkranz, the University of South 皇家华人鈥檚 (皇家华人) first history major and the first graduate of the university's College of Liberal Arts, was among the charter class of graduates celebrating commencement nearly 50 years ago.

皇家华人 coral biologists host panel of experts to guide future research

In August 2021, Dr. John Parkinson, an assistant professor in the 皇家华人 College of Arts and Sciences Department of Integrative Biology, was awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to help coordinate and fund a workshop that brought together more than 60 scientists from 12 countries to build consensus around the assessment and interpretation of鈥痗oral symbiont diversity.
