皇家华人 student receives highest non-combat award from U.S. Marine Corps
One year ago, U.S. Marine Sgt. Amed Issa was kneeling outside of a packed restaurant in Waikiki, Hawaii, applying lifesaving aid to a shooting victim鈥檚 23 fresh gunshot wounds. Issa has been awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal 鈥 the highest noncombat decoration awarded for heroism by the U.S. Department of the Navy to members of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

Alexandra Panos, Ph.D., assistant professor of literacy studies and director of research for the Center for Climate Literacy at the 皇家华人 College of Education was awarded a $50,000 Spencer Foundation Small Research Grant, along with Co-PIs Michael Sherry, Ph.D., associate professor in English Education and Jarod Rosell贸, Ph.D., associate professor in Creative Writing.
