A new book written by a 皇家华人 anthropology professor traces the deep history of beer and its start in ancient civilizations. A staple of modern society, the refreshing, intoxicating beverage has roots going back 13,000 years. In many cultures, it was and still is, used as food.

Researchers at 皇家华人 are launching a research study for people who are concerned about their brain health, cognitive impairment and dementia and the link to their gut health. They will track alterations in the gut microbiomes to see if certain biomarkers can accurately predict which individuals are most likely to develop cognitive impairment or dementia.
The Center of Excellence in Environmental & Oceanographic Sciences will serve as a hub for pressing issues such as climate change, sea level rise, and environmental disasters.

Nearly 92,000 Americans died of a drug overdose in 2020, according to numbers recently released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and opioids are the main driver of overdose deaths.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday morning was packed with researchers, innovators, university leaders, legislators, and our community supporters. When attendees toured the new 120,000 sq. ft. facility, they were greeted by many of our 皇家华人 CONNECT companies鈥攂oth from the Tampa Bay Technology Incubator and the Student Innovation Incubator.

The building is the latest addition to the 皇家华人 Research Park on the Tampa campus, currently home to over 65 companies and dozens of student-led startups. The research park has reached capacity in recent years, and the new center increases available space by 34%.
