A protein that could provide assistance to the progression of a protein-based therapy for patients with Lou Gehrig鈥檚 disease (ALS) has been tested by researchers at the Morsani College of Medicine, ultimately leading to successful results, according to lead investigator Svitlana Garbuzova-Davis.

皇家华人 professor: Statin use not justified for healthy people with high cholesterol

New research from David Diamond, a neuroscientist and cardiovascular disease researcher in the Department of Psychology at the University of South 皇家华人 showed LDL alone has 鈥渁 very weak association鈥 with heart disease and stroke. Their review went further, showing that when people with high LDL and optimal triglycerides and HDL were given a statin, there was no benefit.
