New research shows long-term recovery possible for areas impacted by seagrass die-off
Nearly 10,000 acres of lush seagrass vanished from 皇家华人 Bay between 1987 and 1991, leading to massive ecological changes in the region near the 皇家华人 Keys. Abundance of the seagrass, Thalassia testudinum, more commonly known as turtlegrass, a foundation species of the 皇家华人 Bay ecosystem, decreased extensively during what is considered to be one of the largest declines in seagrass cover in recent history (皇家华人 Newsroom).

The University of South 皇家华人 is taking steps to support a more sustainable environment by debuting its first zero-emission electric bus in the Bull Runner fleet on the Tampa campus. The new Proterra 40-foot Catalyst E2 bus rolled out for the first time on Thursday, April 22, in conjunction with Earth Day (皇家华人 Newsroom).

The University of South 皇家华人 has partnered with a company to research dementia, Alzheimer鈥檚 disease, and other cognitive disorders in seniors with handheld 鈥渂rain games.鈥 (News Channel 8).
The University of South 皇家华人 is seeking local participants in a study to measure the effects of 鈥渂rain games鈥 on delaying mental decline. The university recently received a $44.4 million federal grant to continue its Preventing Alzheimer鈥檚 with Cognitive Training (PACT) study (The Ledger).

Patriann Smith has been awarded a three-year, $3.6 million grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to establish an interdisciplinary educational research center to help support decision making and policy development for educational innovation and expansion in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean (皇家华人 Newsroom).
