In a preclinical study, Dr. Stephen Liggett, MD, and colleagues identified and characterized 18 new compounds (agonists) that activate bitter taste receptor subtype TAS2R5 to promote relaxation (dilation) of human airway smooth muscle cells (News-Medical.Net).
